We’ve come a long way since “going steady” and “getting pinned” were considered benchmarks for a flourishing couple.

Nowadays, people can more easily define a “basic bitch” than their own relationship status. While the times have most certainly changed, I’d argue that there is still a desire and need for a few common courtesies.

They may even be all the more important now that single Americans outnumber their married counterparts for the first time in history.

We may call it hooking up rather than dating, swipe on our phones rather than approach strangers in a bar or blur the lines between friendships and romance, but that doesn’t make our methods any better or worse. In fact, even casual flings can be healthy and fun.

With all due respect to Pat Benatar, love doesn’t have to be a battlefield; we all just need to agree on a few basic ground rules. So, whether you’re a guy or a girl, gay or straight, looking for love or just a good lay, here are your 10 commandments of modern dating.

Consider me God in this scenario.

1. THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE FEELINGS

Let’s be real here: Are you actually into this person or are you keeping him on the back burner in case nothing better comes along? If it’s the latter, channel your inner Moses and let those people go.

You might hurt his feelings in the moment, but you’ll be doing him a favor in the long run. Trust.

2. THOU SHALT HONOR HONESTY ABOVE ALL ELSE

Ditch the Tough Guy and Cool Girl act already and be yourself. If whomever you’re seeing can’t appreciate the real you, then let it be their loss. Let your freak flag fly!

Someone who really likes you will appreciate your special snowflake-ness above all else. Who knows, you might even a share a few quirks.

3. THOU SHALT NOT JUDGE BASED ON SUPERFICIALITY

You’ll only date someone taller than 6’0″? Only be seen with someone smaller than a size 4? Stop picturing what Instagram filter you’ll use and start imagining your day-to-day relationship.

Would you call that person to bitch about your boss? Could your friends survive an entire weekend away with him? Consider these your new baseline requirements.People will spend .000035 seconds evaluating the hotness of your significant other then go right back to figuring out which “Girls” character they’re most like from a Buzzfeed quiz. That’ll be it.

4. THOU SHALT HAVE SEX WHENEVER THOU IS READY

Buying dinner is not a one-way ticket inside someone’s pants, nor should you expect it to be. In the same regard, waiting until after the stereotypical three dates does not ensure a healthy, long-term relationship.

Go with your gut, and do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. In today’s Tinder-verse, everyone and anyone can get laid if they really want to, so just be real about what you want.

If being that upfront sounds more awkward than waking up next to a stranger, I’d start questioning your logic.

5. THOU SHALT NOT COVET THE “TIMELINE”

Ah, the timeline. In a perfect Stepford world, everyone would find the lid to their pot by 22, be married by 26 and pop babies out by 30. Alas, we live in reality. And, by the way, it’s much better out here.

Life is not a race with some imaginary finish line, so stop comparing your journey to everyone else’s. Being a real adult is about finding out what makes you happy and going for it. Everything else will fall into place after that.

6. THOU SHALT NOT TAKE EVERYTHING PERSONALLY

A very wise friend once wrote, “Ultimately, it is completely possible to be absolutely in love with someone who is wrong for you.” Remember, you are no less valuable just because one individual doesn’t feel the same spike in hormones as you do. They just weren’t the right one.

7. THOU SHALT BELIEVE THOSE WHO SAY THEY AREN’T INTERESTED<

They may not always say it outright (see: commandment one), but people who are no longer invested let it be known.

If they ignore you, cancel plans constantly without a valid excuse and generally don’t make you important, they are sending a clear message. Listen up, pay attention and move the frig on.

8. THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY (SIDENOTE: ALSO A REAL COMMANDMENT)

I recently rekindled with an old flame only to learn after our date that he’s already in a serious relationship. Bad move. It’s time for all of us to grow up and be honest with each other. If you’re unhappy in your current relationship, end it before moving on. Case closed.

9. REMEMBER THINE OWN HEARTBREAK

We’ve all been there: the tears, the overindulgence in junk food, the righteous indignation when relaying the story to friends. But do we ever consider the effects when we’re the villains in this scenario?

Not every ex-girlfriend is crazy, not every former boyfriend is an asshole, but we should all take a little responsibility for when we’ve played those roles.

That doesn’t mean whipping ourselves nightly (unless you’re into that sort of thing) or banishing ourselves to a lifetime of loneliness. It just means learning from our past mistakes.

10. THOU SHALT DO UNTO OTHERS, AS THOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU

Feelings are bound to get hurt when emotions are this involved, but it all comes down to Aretha Franklin and her famous spelling bee: R-E-S-P-E-C-T. As long as we can all agree to that, the other commandments will fall into place.

Former Miss Turkey Faces Prison For 'Insulting' The Country's President

  ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — The lawyer for a model and former Miss Turkey says she could face up to two years in prison for social media posts that prosecutors have deemed to be critical of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Emre Telci said Wednesday an Istanbul prosecutor is demanding that Merve Buyuksarac be prosecuted on charges of insulting a public official. A court will decide whether to start proceedings.
Buyuksarac was detained last month for sharing a satirical poem on her Instagram account. She denies insulting Erdogan.

She becomes the latest figure to face trial for insulting Erdogan, amid fear the country is lurching toward authoritarian rule.
In recent years, Turkey has curbed media freedoms, cracked down on critical social media postings 
and prosecuted hundreds of people who took part in mass anti-government protests

Guys! 5 Warning Signs That Your Girlfriend Is About To Leave You And How To Stop Her From Leaving! (Must See)

Has your girlfriend been acting strange lately?

Most guys look over the warning signs as just a strange phase their girlfriend is going through. Some even blame it on their “time of the month”. Don’t be one of those guys! Learn what the signs are and do something about her if you want to keep her.

1. SHE’S BECOMING INCREASINGLY DISTANT

When she’s with you there’s no “connection” and it kinda feels like she’s being distant. She’ll be more quiet than normal, less enthusiastic to see you when you haven’t seen each other for a while and not as into your conversations like she was when you first met.

2. NOT RESPONSIVE WITH CALLS/RESPONDING TO TEXTS

When you first started dating, she would respond to your texts almost immediately, pick up the phone when you called and reply with funny/witty messages. But now… she’s responding with one word messages, not answering when you call and taking a few hours to respond.

Obviously you wouldn’t expect your girlfriend to pickup or text back right away every time, but if it’s always non-responsive… then you have a problem.

3. SHE’D RATHER GO OUT WITH HER FRIENDS THAN YOU

If you’ve organised something with her like going to see a movie or grabbing a bite to eat and she’s already made plans with her friends on more occasions than she’s been out with you… that’s an issue. This shows that you’re just not any fun or interesting to her anymore and she sees going out with you as a chore.

4. SHE MAKES LAME EXCUSES

If you were supposed to meet or she didn’t answer the phone after multiple calls or she came home late (if you’re living with her) from a night out without telling you she was out for the night (this is common courtesy, not a father daughter complex) then makes lame excuses as to why she didn’t call etc… this is a big warning sign.

There’s no respect on her side and she feels as though she doesn’t need to be courteous with you because you’re a pushover.

5. SHE PICKS FIGHTS OVER SMALL THINGS

I can’t cope with his huge manhood, wife seeks divorce in court

There was laughter at the Sharia Court, Samaru, Gusau, Zamfara State, during the week, when a housewife, Aisha Dannupawa, asked the court to dissolve her one-week marriage to her husband, Ali Maizinari, because she could not bear the size of his pe.nis , Nigerian Tribune reports.

When the case came up, the woman told the court that she married her husband after her first marriage failed.

The mother of three revealed that before she packed into her husband’s house, as the tradition
demanded, she was invited into his parents house.


She told the court that “when he came, we had sex but the experience was a nightmare. Instead of enjoying the sex, it turned out to be something else because his pe nis was too big,” she told the court.

She also told the court that after the experience, she took some medication, which was given to her by her mother.

“I told my mother the experience but she told me to endure and that with time, I will be able to cope. She then gave me some drugs,’’ she added.

According to her, “two days later when he came to visit me, we had sex again, but the experience was too much to bear. It was then I knew that I could not continue with the marriage because of the size of his penis.’’

The husband, Maizinari, did not deny what his wife said. He told the court that he was willing to divorce her but that she should pay back the dowry and all that he spent on her during the courtship.

When he was asked to state the amount, Maizinari disclosed that what he expected from her was N60,000.

President of the court, Alhaji Mamman Shinkafi, told the couple to try reconciliation before the next date.

Too bad when some other women are complaining that theirs is too small and can't satisfy them, other are complaining that theirs is too big.
